Colleen Repplier, president of Tyco Fire Protection Products, noted that attendance at the XTREME Industrial Fire & Hazard Training 2014 held in May in Beaumont and Port Arthur, TX, had easily doubled since her last visit for XTREME in 2012.
“There was far more content and we have our new manufacturing facility in Port Arthur where we got to demonstrate all the equipment,” Repplier said. “All the firefighters got to see the facility. That was really outstanding.”
The annual training conference offers classroom sessions reviewing case studies and fire field logistics together with live fire rotations and full scale equipment demonstrations. The live fire exercises were conducted at the Beaumont Emergency Services Training complex with classroom sessions held at the Holiday Inn Beaumont Plaza.
Repplier noted that XTREME caters to a sell-out crowd every year.
“We’re just keep trying to upscale what we offer,” Repplier said.
Brian Young, senior vice president of sales for Tyco Fire Protection Products, was also on hand for the four-day event in Texas.
“This is a world class representation of the Tyco brand showing our commitment to the industry,” Young said. “This is a truly great event.”
