US Fire Pump's Signature Series foam, the latest product from Dwight Williams, is a foam concentrate that's better than the original 3M ATC foam which he assisted in developing, according to the company.
Signature Series foam was created to be clean and environmentally friendly without sacrificing effectiveness. It was developed for successful extinguishment with the current appliances, tactics and application rates at 1% and has the best extinguishment time for in-depth fuel fires.
Dwight P. Williams Signature Series 1% x 3% AR-AFFF is described as UL approved and designed to be the most effective foam on fuel in depth type fires as demonstrated by the performance on the Dwight Williams Plunge test.
The foam is proportioned at 1% for hydrocarbon fuel fires and 3% for polar solvent fuel fires. The formulation includes a mixture of water, hydrocarbon surfactants, solvents, C6 fluorosurfactants and fluoropolymers.
The product can be used with standard proportioning equipment, foam discharge devices, in-line foam proportioners and self educting nozzles. It can also be used as a vapor suppressor for flammable liquid spills, the release states.
The concentrate should be stored at temperatures between 20 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 6 degrees Celsius) and 122 degrees (50 degrees), preferably in the original containers, approved bladder tanks, stainless steel, high density polyethylene, fiberglass or epoxy lined tanks.
