Miami-Dade Fire Rescue battled a massive fire that broke out Wednesday morning at an oil and filter recycling business near Doral, Florida.

“Units arrived to find heavy fire coming from the rear of the business,” the MDFR Twitter page states. “The building was evacuated as well as nearby businesses as a precaution.”

Upon arrival firefighters upgraded their response to a second alarm to bring additional unit to the scene. More than 30 units, including the NDFR foam truck, eventually responded to the fire scene.

“The fire was placed under control within an hour,” the MDFR Twitter page states. “Units remain on scene including our hazmat units due to the prtesence of hazardous materials.”

E.M.C. Oil Corporation, owners of the facility, is an environmental waste management company serving South Florida.
