An industrial press accident Tuesday morning at the BFGoodrich Tires plant in Woodburn, Indiana, left an employee dead from “multiple crush injuries,” the Allen County Coroner’s Office reports.

The coroner identified the victim as Sean Redden, 48, of Fort Wayne. The death was ruled accidental.

A statement issued by Michelin North America, owners of the plant, states that Redden died during a maintenance procedure. Redden was the only casualty reported.

United Steelworkers Local 715 released a press statement acknowledging the incident.

“It is with great sadness, USW Local 715L lost a member this morning due to a fatal accident” at the tire factory, the release states.
