Residents near the Kingspan Insulation plant in Winchester, Virginia, complained about thick smoke when fire broke out in a warehouse Monday evening.
“I just came in the house,” Cory Gunter posted to Facebook. “It was hard to breathe.”
First reports of the fire reached dispatchers at about 5:15 p.m., stating that the warehouse was fully involved. Fire companies from both Virginia and West Virginia responded to the scene, battling the fire more than three and a half hours.
Employees at the 400,000-square-foot plant were sent home early by management. No injuries were reported.
