A historic building in an industrial complex in Bridgeton, New Jersey will be demolished following a "devastating fire" early Tuesday morning, reports NJ.com.

The building that once housed the offices of the Ferracute Machine Company was listed on the National Historic Register. The brick building was first developed in 1877. A time capsule in the cornerstone brick was saved.

Bridgeton Fire Department crews were called to the fire around 12:30 a.m. that had engulfed the entire roof of the building.
