High winds and dry grass spread flames Thursday afternoon from a burning trailer parked beside an automotive parts factory in Riverside, Missouri, to a storage unit on the same property.

The trailer, filled with wooden pallets, and the quonset-like storage unit were a total loss, fire officials report. Also, the burning trailer caused major damage to the nearby manufacturing.

Thirty units from multiple departments, including Kansas City, Missouri, responded to the three-alarm fire in the Horizons Business Park. The plant, Martinrea, supplies parts to the General Motors plant in Kansas City, Kansas.
