A fire Sunday at a Shanghai steel mill is not expected to severely impact the molten iron output from the world’s second largest steel producer, state-owned Baoshan Iron & Steel.

In a filing with the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the company reported that gas released by a damaged pipe in a blast furnace ignited at the mill at about 10:45 p.m. Sunday. Local responders extinguished the fire with no injuries.

The company offered no estimate on when production would resume.

Baoshan boasts an annual steel output of nearly 35 tons.
