Fire burned more than six hours at a building materials plant Thursday morning in Nagoya City, Japan.
Welding work on an elevator was underway at the Nichiha Matex plant when the first flames were spotted about 9 a.m. in the plant’s inventory of wood chips. Workers were evacuated from the facility.
Twenty fire trucks were dispatched to the scene, local media reports state. However, after the first two and a half hours of firefighting flames were still apparent in presses and ducts on the second floor of the factory.
No injuries were reported.
