Lack of a nearby fire hydrant hindered firefighters responding Sunday to a pallet factory fire in southern Poland.

According to the Wadowice Voluntary Fire Service Facebook page, firefighters were dispatched at 11:40 a.m. to a fire in the factory’s production hall. Responders arrived to find fire visible on the roof and coming from the boiler room.

Although dozens of firefighters soon arrived on the scene, the lack of available water limited what could be done, the local press reports. Flames soon spread through flammable materials such as stacks of pallets, quickly spreading the fire across the property.

A police investigation has been ordered.
