Being closed due to the pandemic turned out to be a good thing for workers at Camfil Air Pollution Control. An EF3-rated tornado packing winds up to 165 mph leveled much of the factory Saturday in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Normally the factory is in full production on Saturdays, factory manager Graeme Bell told the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.

“We came out lucky,” Bell told the newspaper. “Our No. 1 priority is people, not money.”

Adding insult to injury, the tornado ignited a gas line in the process of flattening the facility.

Camfil, a Swedish-based company, specializes in high-efficiency dust and fume collection systems for industry. The company has operated in Jonesburo in 2011.
