Responders needed three hours to extinguish an intense fire that swept through a chemical plant Tuesday morning in south central India, Telangana Today reports.

Residents living near the plant were awakened by the flames and smoke, immediately reporting the emergency to firefighters. The fire spread rapidly through flammable chemical stored in plastic containers.

Four fire engines were eventually needed to bring the fire under control. No casualties were reported.
