A massive fire broke out Wednesday evening at a paper recycling plant in Diez, Germany, near Limburg, and spreading to a neighboring plant.

“Currently we are in a large-scale operation!!” the FF Diez-Freiendiez Facebook account reports. “Please close windows and doors!!”

Reported shortly before midnight, the fire was still burning seven hours later. Beside the recycling plant building, the fire swept through raw materials stored outside.

As of Thursday morning, the fire now includes a production plant next door that produces films and composites, local press reports.

No injuries were reported. The fire required a mutual aid response of several hundred firefighters brought in from Hesse, the Limburg-Weilburg district, the Westerwald district, and career departments in Koblenz and Wiesbaden.
