Fire gutted a plant manufacturing parts from composite plastics Tuesday evening in western France.

First reported at about 11 p.m., fire travelled the length of a 2,000 square meter industrial building in La Merlatière in the Pays de la Loire region, press reports state.

With 45 firefighters responding to the scene equipped with four water lances, the flames were eventually contained more than five hours later. No injuries were reported.

The plant specialized in the use of polyester reinforced with glass fibers, epoxy carbon and polyurethane foam insulation.
