Two workers suffered serious injuries Sunday morning in a fire at an agricultural products plant in Setúbal, Portugal.

The fire broke at 2:50 a.m. at the Sapec Agro Agricutural Products factory where sulfur was being handled, CM Portugal reports.

Because of extensive burns, one worker was transported by helicopter to the Hospital of the University of Coimbra. The other worker went to the Hospital de Santa Maria in Lisbon.

An in-house brigade at Spaec Agro responded with 16 firefighters and five vehicles. Municipal volunteer firefighters and other emergency responders joined them at the scene.

Responders extinguished the fire within 40 minutes.
