Fire in Italian Sawdust Silo Proves Difficult to Reach

Firefighters had to dismantle machinery near the top of a 12-meter-tall sawdust silo to reach flames inside Monday afternoon in Poviglio, Italy.

The fire involved filters located in the upper part of the silo at Padana Legnami, a lumber mill in Via Argine Mola in Reggio Emilia Province.

Firefighters from Sant'Ilario and Guastalla joined in the mutual aid effort to extinguish the silo fire.
