A forklift fire Thursday spread through the inventory of drainage tile at a Bethany, Missouri, factory making water management systems.

The driver escaped without injury when the forklift ignited in thestorage yard at Prinsco Water Management. However, strong winds spread the flames to the large inventory of black drainage tile which is highly flammable.

Factory workers, reacting quickly, were able to rescue a portion of the inventory.

The heat generated quickly exhausted the firefighters, resulting an a mutual aid response from the nearby communities of New Hampton, Pattonsburg, Albany, North Harrison and Cainsville, the Bethany Fire Department Facebook page reports.
