An explosion Monday evening rocked a petrochemical plant in Yeosu, South Korea, local media reports.
At about 8:30 p.m. an explosion was reported at Samnam Petrochemical at the Yeosun Industrial Complex in Jeonnam province. The blast occurred in a boiler room at the plant.
The initial firefighting response was later increased to a mutual aid response drawing personnel and equipment from neighboring fire departments. Authorities reported that 20 fire trucks and 100 firefighters are on the scene.
No injuries were reported. Cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
