A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of a 500-square-foot polyethylene products plant Friday morning in Chester, South Carolina.

Deputies were called to Carolina Poly at 1577 Lancaster Highway regarding the threat. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division’s bomb squad was also called for assistance, the Chester County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page reports.

The Facebook page later reported that no device was found and that the scene had been declared safe.

“Additionally, we are continuing our criminal investigation into this incident,” the sheriff’s office states.

Carolina Poly produces several lines of polyethylene products, including trash bags and construction films.
