A silo fire at a disused factory Saturday morning in northern Italy drew the immediate attention of local firefighters.

At about 2:40 a.m., alarms went off at the factory in Capriva del Friuli about 40 kilometers northwest of Trieste. Firefighters traced the fire to discarded product left in a silo on site, local media report.

In a mutual aid response, firefighters from nearby Gorizia and Udine were also called to the site. Udine provided earthmoving equipment that proved valuable during firefighting operations.

The actual cause of the fire remains under investigation.
