An asphalt tank exploded Tuesday morning at a mixing plant in Gloucester City, New Jersey.
Emergency personnel evacuated nearby homes shortly after the explosion and fire at Blueknight Energy Partners at about 1 a.m. Authorities said the tank was reported to be smoldering nearly a quarter hour before the blast.
A limited water supply in the area and problems with access made firefighting operations difficult, authorities said.
No injuries have been reported. The cause of the blast remains under investigation.
