Four emergency responders remain missing after entering a burning warehouse Sunday morning in Japan’s Shizuoka prefecture, local media report.

At about 1:35 a.m., a smoke detector activated at the Rec Shizuoka #2 factory operated by household cleaning product maker Lee Inc. in the Yoshida neighborhood of Kawajiri.

Three firefighters and a police officer entered the warehouse shortly before flames enveloped the structure, local media report.

Three other emergency responders battling the blaze have been transported to the hospital due to smoke inhalation.

The factory had not been in operation at least four days prior to the fire.
