At least four firefighters suffered heat stress battling a warehouse fire Sunday afternoon in the industrial district of Aigues-Mortes, France.
Shortly after noon, fire broke out in a 4,000 square meter warehouse stocked with cardboard and pallets. Nearly 80 firefighters responded to the scene equipped with four fire trucks, two aerial ladder and a command vehicle, the Facebook page for Sapeurs-Pompiers du Gard reports.
Damage to the warehouse was extensive, including a collapsed roof. Homes downwind of the fire scene were ordered evacuated.
Authorities report that the response may require many hours of effort before the fire is under control.
