A loaded trailer caught fire at the loading dock of Nearby Eggs Monday.

A refrigerated trailer unit that burst into flames Monday afternoon caused extensive damage at a dairy farm in southern Pennsylvania, local media report.

The trailer was parked at the loading dock of Nearby Eggs Inc. in Codorus Township when fire broke out in the refrigeration unit at the front of the trailer. The trailer was loaded with eggs for shipment when the fire broke out shortly before 5 p.m.

Flames scorched the exterior of the plant and damaged an empty trailer nearby. Damage was estimated at $500,000.
