A fuel tank inside a factory working with metals fed flames hundreds of feet high Sunday morning in India’s Haryana state.

At 6 a.m., a factory watchman called Vishwakarma Industry owner Naresh Kumar to report a fire in Yamunanagar, local media report. Firefighters were on the scene within 20 minutes. Despite three fire crews responding the entire factory was soon engulfed and gutted by the flames.

Kumar estimated the loss in millions of rupees.

On Saturday night the factory closed as usual, authorities said. Sometime that night a storm producing heavy winds and rains passed through the area. Speculation is that sparks from a weather-related short circuit ignited the fuel tank.

Flames were visible nearly two kilometers away.
