Three factories making cardboard, plastic and textiles were destroyed by fire Sunday evening in Pakistan’s largest city, Karachi, local media report.
With flames first reported at 6 p.m., the fire quickly spread at section of the Export Processing Zone in Karachi’s Landhi area. Despite nine fire tenders and a snorkel dispatch to the scene, the fire intensified as it reached more flammable materials.
All hydrants across the city were ordered closed to direct water to the fire scene, authorities said.
No injuries were reported.
