A forklift accident Tuesday at a steel plant in northwest Indiana left one worker dead, local media report.

Further information about the death at the ArcelorMittal Indiana Harbor plant in East Chicago on Lake Michigan are pending, officials said.

The accident involved a forklift, also referred to as a coil tractor, used to move steel coils weighing up to 50,000 pounds.

According to the Northwest Indiana Times, the last fatality accident at the plant was in April when a railroad engine struck a rail car on an adjacent track.
