A fire Saturday morning at a tile manufacturing plant in northern France destroyed a fuel tank and a large inventory of tiles, SDIS de l’Oise reports.

At about 3:40 a.m., fire broke out at the Monier company in Longueil-Ste-Marie. More than 50 firefighters and 10 fire vehicles were mobilized for the emergency.

Firefighters used water to cool nearby exposures from radiant heat, saving an adjacent building. Apparatus dispatched to the scene included four five vans, two high-powered foam vans, a foam cell, a 10,000-liter water tanker and a pump car dispenser.

Beside the burning fuel tank, the fire destroyed nearly 600,000 tiles stored in a 600 square meter storage site.

Eleven workers safely evacuated the burning factory.
