Emergency vehicles gather at a burning textile mill in Bursa, Turkey.

Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire on the roof of a textile factory Sunday in northwestern Turkey, local media report.

Smoke billowing from the factory in the Dumlupinar district of Bursa could be seen from miles away, witnesses report. Emergency personnel arriving on the scene assisted with the evacuation of workers.

Responders brought the blaze under control within 30 minutes. Twenty-five firefighters dispatch during the emergency brought nine fire trucks.

The city is still a major center for textiles in Turkey and is home to the Bursa International Textiles and Trade Center.
