Garment Factory Fire Breaks Out in Pakistan

Fire erupted Saturday night in a garment factory in Pakistan’s industrial and financial center, Karachi, local media report.

The fire broke out on the first floor of a five-story building located in an industrial area of the Karachi borough of Korangi. With flames soon extending to the second floor, the initial response of three fire brigade vehicles were supplemented with additional firefighters.

Since the fire occurred on a public holiday, the factory was empty save for security personnel. No casualties were reported due to the fire.
