Steel Plant Fire Quickly Resolved by Italian Firefighters

Fire broke out Thursday morning in a cooling tower at a steel mill in northern Italy, local media report.

The fire occurred in the water plant at the Acciaieria Arvedi steel mill in Cremona. Although the fire appeared massive, local responders using six emergency vehicles were able to bring it under control within an hour, authorities said.

No injuries were reported in the fire. Authorities elected not to conduct air sampling after extinguishment.
