An explosion and fire at an organic chemical factory in western India killed at least one person and seriously injured four more Monday evening, local media report.
Initial reports indicate that an explosion at Nandolia Organic Chemical in Palghar sparked the massive fire that followed.
At about 7:30 p.m. firefighters were summoned to an industrial estate known as the Tanapur Chemical Zone. Initial reports about the emergency have been sketchy.
