Heavy smoke inside a medical manufacturing warehouse in central California activated the automatic fire protection systems Wednesday morning, local media report.
At about 3 a.m., the fire alarm went off at Universal Meditech, manufacturer of pregnancy related products. Firefighter with the Fresno Fire Department arrived to find smoke and the sprinklers activated inside the warehouse.
Although the sprinklers dealt with any fire that was present, the runoff from the sprinklers damaged businesses next door.
No cause of the fire that generated the smoke has been determined.
