A fire in a machine to make boiled soybean feed left one worker at a Taiwanese feed mill with burns on nearly 40 percent of his body, local media report.

Firefighters extinguished the fire in Kaohsiung City within 25 minutes.

At about 9:30 a.m., the fire broke out. The worker, who received burns on his hands, face and back, was conscious when transported to a hospital by ambulance.

Eighteen emergency vehicles manned by nearly 40 firefighters responded to the scene from nearby Luzhu, Okayama, Mi Tuo, Yongan, and Ziguan.

No cause for the fire has been determined.
