Refineries along the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana shut down operations in advance of Hurricane Laura making shore Thursday morning.
Among the refineries suspending production are:
● Motiva in Port Arthur, Texas – 600,000 barrels per day.
● Citgo in Lake Charles, Louisiana – 425,000 b/d.
● ExxonMobil in Beaumont, Texas – 366,000 b/d.
● Valero in Port Arthur – 335,000 b/d.
● Phillips 66 in Lake Charles – 250,000 b/d.
● Total in Port Arthur – 225,500 b/d.
Offshore production platforms and drilling rigs shut down represent more than 80 percent of Gulf of Mexico oil production.
