
Flames at a hazardous waste storage facility turned the sky above Foshan City, China, Saturday night.

A massive fire broke out at a hazardous waste storage plant Saturday night in southeastern China, local media report.
At about 8 p.m., fire was reported at the Heli Environmental Protection Technology plant in Foshan City, Guangdong province. Two buildings, a wide area outside the plant and many vehicles burned in the blaze.
The fire also generated thick smoke that engulfed most of the facility, local media report.
By 11:30 p.m. firefighters successfully extinguished the visible flames from the emergency.
Heli Environmental collects stores and treats hazardous waste from industry. The plant also makes hazardous chemicals.
