Nearly half of an 800 square meter warehouse at a foam board plant burned Tuesday in Inner Mongolia, China, local media report.

Firefighters arrived at 12:51 p.m. to find smoke and violent flames showing at the warehouse in Baotou City. The Baotou responders were soon joined by fire engines and personnel from Burhantu, Hexi, Gonghudong Road and Baiyun Road.

At the height of the fire more than 100 emergency personnel were on scene supported by 28 fire vehicles.

Two gas tanks in the warehouse exploded, prompting firefighter to evacuate all onlookers. Firefighters quickly moved as much foam boards away from the fire as possible.

Once firefighters familiarized themselves with the layout of the building’s interior and the materials inside, an offensive attack was organized. The thick smoke forced personnel to use breathing apparatus.

After the fire was contained, bulldozers were used to puah dirt into the warehouse as a barrier. This move extinguished the fire.

No injuries were reported.
