Firefighters mobilized Wednesday to battle a blaze at a plant in northern France specializing in rubber seals, local media report.

At about midnight, more than 40 firefighters responded to a blaze at the Raclot plant in Chaumont-en-Vexin. Thanks to four 500 liter per minute lances and firewall structures, the fire was limited to a single storage shed.

Fire trucks, an aerial ladder and a supply of firefighting foam were pressed into service during the lengthy battle. The firefighters left the scene at 10 a.m. Thursday morning.

Town mayor Emmanuelle Lamarque reported that there were no injuries and no concerns about pollution from the fire.

At least 30 workers face unemployment until the plant is in operations once again.
