Firefighters shut down an entire industrial park Thursday morning in central Mexico when fire broke out at a leather tannery, local media report.
At about 9 a.m., workers could not close an outdoor dispensing valve to a pipe supplying liquid propane to the tannery in Guanajuato. The escaping gas ignited, flames enveloping a waiting truck and injuring the driver.
Management ordered an immediate evacuation of the plant. Arriving firefighters were quickly able to extinguish the fire.
