Bangladeshi Steel Workers Burned in Furnace Explosion

Three of five workers injured when a steel plant furnace in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka began spurting metal Sunday morning are listed in critical condition, local media report.

At about 12:30 a.m., nine workers were melting metal at Shahriar Steel Mills when an explosion took place inside the furnace. Five of the workers were rushed to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Three were admitted to the ICU for treatment.
