A dust collection unit caught fire Wednesday morning at a veneer manufacturer in south central Indiana, fire officials report.

At 5 a.m., firefighters responded to a working fire at Amos Hill Associates, an Edinburgh veneer manufacturer. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames issuing from a large dust collection unit inside the plant.

With evacuation complete, firefighters attacked the fire with a 1 3/4 line and gained control in approximately 20 minutes.

Crews remained on scene to check for extensions and conduct overhaul operations for nearly an hour after extinguishing the blaze. Mutual aid departments rom Amity, Nineveh, German Township, Whiteland and Seals assisted with water supply and overhaul.

No injuries were reported.
