Flames destroyed the interior of a mattress factory in southern Uganda Monday morning.
At about 9:30 a.m., workers witnessed flames spread swiftly through the Vita Foam factory in Njeru. Flames consumed the contents, including equipment and inventory, local media report.
The Uganda People’s Defense Forces fire brigade, joined by several private fire agencies, extinguished the blaze. No cause for the fire has been established.
No injuries were reported. Likewise, no estimate on the monetary loss has been made.
