Officials reported no casualties in a massive plywood factory fire Thursday morning in northern India.
The owner of Vidhata Industries near Bija, District Ludhiana, told local media that he alerted firefighters at about 5 a.m. after receiving a telephone call from inside the factory reporting that a major fire had broken out.
A team of 15 firefighters equipped with three fire tenders soon arrived. At least 20 tanker-loads of water were also brought to the scene to support the firefighting efforts.
A spokesman for Vidhata said that the loss to the business is expected to be large.
