Injuries from a sudden release of pressure from an air tank Monday evening at a chemical plant in western India left one contract worker dead.

At about 8:30 p.m., the worker was performing fabrication work in a portion of Chemiorganic Chemicals Private Limited in Jhagadia under construction when the blast took place, local media report. The worker died instantly from the blast to his face and chest.

The air pressure tank was being used in the fabrication work. The deceased was one of four workers assigned to the project.

Chemiorganic is located in a local industrial park.
