An inventory of soccer balls turned into charred shells Tuesday morning at a sports equipment factory in northern India.

At about 6 a.m., fire broke out at the factory in Jalandhar, 370 kilometers northwest of Dehli, local media report. No workers were on duty at the time of the fire.

Firefighters deployed two fire tenders to extinguish the flames.

Although the factory owner claimed the fire was arson, fire officials have not determined the cause of the fire.
