Fire broke out in a roof unit of the North America’s largest industrial chocolate manufacturer Tuesday morning in Chicago, Illinois.

Firefighters arrived at the Blommer Chocolate Company’s Fulton River District factory at about 11:12 a.m. to find black smoke rising from the roof.

“They have roasters up there (on the roof) and something malfunctioned,” Chicago Fire Department spokesperson Larry Langford told the Chicago Sun Times.

After much difficulty gaining access to the small fire, responders extinguished it in about an hour.

All employees were safely evacuated from the building.
