A dust explosion in a warehouse used for flour storage set off a spectacular fire at an industrial oil and grease factory Wednesday in western Spain.

Huge plumes of smoke rose from the Fernando Corral E. Hijos factory in Aldeaseca de la Frontera and could be seen as far as five kilometers away in Peñaranda de Bracamonte.

Crews with the Diputación Fire Department, based in Peñaranda de Bracamonte, responded to the scene. Fire operations were hindered by the variety of flammable materials involved, authorities said.

Workers at the factory contributed to extinguishing the blaze.
