Multiple Fire and Rescue NSW crews from across south Sydney are responding to an eight-alarm factory fire Thursday night in Moorebank, Australia.
“Firefighters arrived to initial calls at 6:22 p.m. and found a significant fire,” the Fire and Rescue NSW Facebook page reports. “The fire has escalated quickly and is now fully involved.”
A large amount of cardboard stored behind the healthcare factory fueled the initial fire, local media report. The fire soon spread throughout the factory interior.
Employees were evacuated with no reports of injuries.
Firefighters expect to be on the scene throughout the night into Friday morning trying to contain the blaze. Surrounding streets have been closed and police are advising motorists to avoid the area.
