Automatic sprinklers helped contain a spreading fire Friday morning at a bottling plant in New York State, local media report.

Workers at the Refresco Bottling Plant in Dunkirk reported smoke on the second floor at about 4:40 a.m. Firefighters found a fire in the second-floor ceiling that was spreading into a third-floor storage area.

Responders extinguished the visible fire and conducted ventilation operations to clear smoke from the building. Investigators traced the cause of the fire to electrical wiring.

The East Dunkirk Fire Department lent mutual aid at the scene with the West Dunkirk Fire Department on standby. The entire operation took almost two hours.

One firefighter reported a minor injury that did not hinder his work at the scene.
