One of China’s main pharmaceutical ingredient producers saw its stock price drop after an explosion Tuesday night closed its factory in Zhejiang province.
The blast at the Zhejiang Starry Pharmaceutical plant in Taizhou badly injured two workers and shutting down production of iohexol, a contrast agent used during X-rays. A brief fire followed the explosion.
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
